Seeds of Potential

I was thinking about seeds this morning (maybe because summer is in full bloom, or because I was reading Genesis over hot tea), and how really incredible they are.  Such potential locked away in a small package.  It got me wondering about how much potential I have locked away; potential that could flourish and grow if just given the right conditions.

The trouble, of course, is that I don't always know what the right conditions are.  My heart tells me that I'll find them if I practice slowing down and...
Listening.
Soaking.
Connecting.

I need these things like oxygen, water, and sunlight.  Without them I am Busy.  Anxious.  Doubtful.
I am dry.   And drought keeps all of my potential locked up tight.

So I'm working on my conditions--the daily stuff.  The steadiness of routine.  The calm of tidy.  The lift of fresh air.  The beauty of simple pleasures.  I'm working on tucking them into life between travel and business and deadlines.  Because I know the potential for great things is there, and the keys are found in the small stuff.
